Services
Art Installation
Chromatic provides specialized art installation services across a wide range of environments, from private residences and corporate collections to galleries, museums, and auction houses. Our team is experienced in managing complex installations that require precision, coordination, and careful handling from start to finish.
We regularly work on large-scale and technically demanding projects, including lobby and storefront installations, multi-piece installations, corporate security hardware integration, residential and commercial installations, and bespoke display systems.
We also take on custom and collaborative work such as curved framing solutions with trusted partners, or custom paneling and display systems tailored to unique presentation requirements.
Packing and Crating
Our crew handles and packs artwork with care, using high-grade, industry-standard materials. We are experienced in a range of packing methods, including secure travel frames, soft packing in slipcases or cavity packs, and protective shadowboxes for wet paintings.
Crating is treated with equal precision. In our dedicated crate shop, we fabricate everything from T-frames to museum-grade crates, as well as custom-built boxes for local transport and international shipping. All crates are constructed from heat-treated wood and are ISPM 15 compliant for international export.
Transportation
We provide local pickups and deliveries throughout New York City and the Tri-State area, with next-day service regularly available and same-day requests accommodated when possible.
Our experienced drivers are well versed in New York City logistics, and clients receive timely updates and estimated arrival windows for smooth coordination.
Our fleet includes a 26-foot high-cube box truck equipped with full air-ride suspension, a fully insulated climate-controlled cargo area, and 24/7 GPS tracking. We also operate a high-roof cargo van for smaller-scale, rush, and specialty transport assignments. All vehicles operate under fully compliant MC and USDOT authority for nationwide transport.
Long Distance and International Shipping
We handle long-distance transportation of artwork across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, as well as international shipping. When a project extends beyond our direct coverage, we coordinate with trusted partners to ensure seamless handling and a straightforward process for our clients.
Climate-controlled Storage
We provide climate-controlled storage for fine art and collections in a secure, carefully maintained environment. Storage is available on both a short-term and long-term basis. We also offer inventory management for both in-storage and off-site collections, including on-site visits to catalog, document, and verify artworks to ensure everything is accurately accounted for and organized.
A private viewing room is available for hourly use, with optional workspace and office accommodations for client needs.
Comprehensive Inventory Management
For artists, estates, and collectors with extensive inventories that are difficult to manage, we offer comprehensive digitization services. This includes handling and photographing artworks, taking precise measurements, preparing condition reports, and cataloging key details such as medium, provenance, and other relevant information.
We also assist with physical organization of collections, whether at a private residence or storage facility. This includes secure wrapping of artworks, creation of custom racks and storage solutions, and implementation of structured, categorized inventory systems.
Stretching and Rolling Paintings
We offer professional stretching and unstretching of paintings—highly specialized work that requires experience, precision, and care. It’s a service not widely offered, and one our team has refined over years of hands-on practice. We can roll or fold oversized paintings for access through constrained spaces, and stretch both new and previously stretched canvases.
